KHY HAIR CARE

Proper care is essential to maintaining the softness, appearance, and longevity of your KHY hair. Follow the care instructions and product recommendations below based on the type of hair you purchased.


WASHING

  • Gently detangle the hair before washing, starting at the ends and working upward.
  • Wash with a gentle, moisturizing shampoo in lukewarm water.
  • Do not aggressively rub or tangle the hair while washing.
  • Follow with a moisturizing conditioner and allow it to sit according to the product instructions.
  • Rinse thoroughly.


DRYING

  • Gently squeeze out excess water. Do not twist or wring the hair.
  • Pat dry with a soft towel or microfiber towel.
  • Allow the hair to air dry when possible.
  • If blow-drying, use a heat protectant and a low-to-medium heat setting.


DETANGLING

  • Detangle gently while the hair is damp or conditioned.
  • Start at the ends and gradually work toward the roots.
  • Use a wide-tooth comb or suitable detangling brush.
  • Never force a comb or brush through a tangle.


HEAT & STYLING

  • Always use a heat protectant before using hot tools.
  • Avoid excessive heat and repeated heat styling.
  • Allow the hair to cool completely before brushing or restyling.

 

NIGHTTIME CARE

  • Wrap hair with a silk or satin scarf/bonnet or sleep on a silk or satin pillowcase.
  • For longer hair, loosely braid or secure it before sleeping to help minimize tangling.


LACE CARE

  • Handle lace gently when brushing or styling.
  • Avoid excessive pulling or tension around the lace.
  • Do not aggressively brush directly through the lace.
  • If adhesive has been used, remove it thoroughly using an appropriate adhesive-removal method before washing the hair.


STORAGE

  • Make sure the hair is completely clean and dry before storing.
  • Gently detangle and store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
  • Avoid storing the hair while damp.

COLOUR CARE

  • Wash less frequently when possible to help maintain the colour.
  • Use a gentle, colour-safe shampoo and conditioner.
  • Wash with cool to lukewarm water. Avoid very hot water.
  • Avoid harsh or clarifying products unless needed, as they may contribute to faster colour fading.

COLOUR MAINTENANCE

The Highlight Edit is professionally coloured before it reaches you. Colour may naturally soften or change slightly over time with washing, heat, sunlight, and product use.
